The unexpected death of Ted Smeaton

Dear ABCD Europe members,

It is with tremendous sadness that we say goodbye to our friend Ted Smeaton. 

Ted had a long and committed history of working with those on the margins, and was a serial social innovator. He has provided steadfast stewardship to the Asset Based Community Development (ABCD) movement in the Australia / Oceanic Region.

Ted served as the Chairperson of the ABCD Asia Pacific Network, Faculty Member of the ABCD Institute of the Northwestern University, Chicago and Managing Director of Inspiring Communities.

Ted will be greatly missed by his friends and colleagues across the globe. Our thoughts and prayers are with his wife Carolyn, and family.
